Frequently Asked Questions

  • Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal process and one of the most important steps in starting therapy. Research shows that the most significant factor in a client’s success is the quality of the relationship with their therapist. You should feel safe, understood, and supported. It’s okay (and encouraged!) to explore a few different therapists to see who you connect with. Pay attention to how you feel during your conversations: Do you feel heard? Do they specialize in the areas you want to focus on? Scheduling consultation calls can help you get a better sense of each therapist’s approach and whether it aligns with the kind of support you’re looking for.

  • Therapy sessions with me are typically 50 minutes long and tailored to meet your unique needs. Our first few sessions focus on getting to know each other—this is where I ask questions to understand your story, your goals, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. As we continue working together, sessions may include exploring patterns, identifying what’s getting in the way of you living fully, and building tools to help you navigate life’s challenges. We’ll work collaboratively to increase your self-awareness, strengthen your ability to manage distress, and move toward the change you want to see.

  • I offer a free 15 minute consultation call.

My private pay rate for a 50 minute session is $150.

  • Yes! I accept Optum, UMR, and United Health Care’s behavioral health insurance.

You can also use your out of network health care coverage.

  • Prior to your first session, you’ll be asked to enter a credit card into my secure, HIPAA-compliant payment system. I accept all major credit cards, as well as Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. Your card will be charged at the end of each session.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee.

  • All sessions are currently held through Telehealth for clients located in California. This allows for greater flexibility and comfort, wherever you are.

  • The therapy process is different for everyone. Some people come to therapy for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose to engage in longer-term work. There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline - therapy is a tool to help you build insight and strengthen your connection to yourself. Throughout our work together, we’ll regularly check in on your goals and progress to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs. Some clients take a break once they feel ready and return later when life brings new challenges. You’re always welcome back and I love hearing life updates from former clients if they choose to reconnect.
